Hey guys. I'm working on a cqb gun at the moment and need a little help.
I bought a JG m4 stubby (cqb full stock, stock jg plastic body, and a 4" metal ris with the barrel just barely coming out from where the rails end) from a friend very cheap. The barrel is so short that it could probably fit in a 5.1 1911.
I opened the gearbox, corrected the angle of engagement, and re-shimed the gears just to help the lifespan of the gearbox. Because of correcting the angle of engagement, my fps dropped by about 50. It was shooting 300 and now its shooting around 250-260.
My local airsoft tech, who is also a friend of mine, told me that the only way to increase the fps is by getting a longer barrel. Is this true? I would like to keep the gun as short as possible, just so it is easier to round corners, etc. Plus, I really don't want to sink more money into parts for this gun since I have already had to put some cash out to fix a few flaws.
If I don't need a longer barrel, what parts should I upgrade to increase the fps? I have already re-shimmed the gears, corrected the angle of engagement, tried to increase compression by putting Teflon tape around the cylinder head by the o-ring, and greased everything up really nicely.
Thanks in advance,
Mr. Fox.
