Though, looking at it from a "sniper" standpoint (having owned gas airsoft sniper rifles before they were converted to external CO2 (having been the one that converted them, and all)), you don't want even the idea of silicone oil anywhere near your hop up. I've taken that to heart with all of my gas guns - I take my magazines apart and manually lube them, manually lube rails, cylinder o-rings, etc. when necessary. So far, I haven't really needed to do that except with a few WE M4 mags. Everything else has been rock solid.
