echo 1 m14 problems, could be simple

My friends echo 1 m14 is having what I think is a compression problem. The gun has aweful! I mean aweful range! Its max is like 80feet. The accuary is just as bad! I dont have a chrono. Sooo thats a no go. Thanks for any help.

90% sure its a hop up problem.
The gun is now "shotguning" the shots at 80 feet.
I also checked the air nozzle and its going back enough.
