new spring/zero trigger

I had to take apart my zero trigger to tighten it onto the gun because it was to the point of falling off. On putting it back together it now will not lock back when cocking unless you pull it all the way back, farther then it went before it seems like. I also just put in a more powerful spring (to just under 600 fps) and it started to slam fire a little bit (1 in probably 50 shots) before I took the trigger apart, probably because the zero trigger was so loose the sears weren't doing their job. It is fine as long as you pull it all the way, so my question is: is this just the new spring breaking in or did I do something to the zero trigger that would make the sears (or something else?) not catch as well as it used to.
