M14 Socom 16 Sniper Rifle.

You may think the M14 is a CQB = Close Quorter Combat Weapon....well it is and it is also a Long Range Weapon....And the M14 is actually our Modern Day Sniper rifle, So why not use it as one???? well lets use it as one....simple tune up of the Hop-Up system, Scope mount, 2-5X Scope & a Ghillie Rifle Rag??? your one hell of a Killer...the Rifle is already so Silent there is no need for a silencer....it only weight's 7 pound's (Without the attachment's) and you can move anywhere with it. so if your looking for a good, lightweight & Movable rifle to use as a sniper???? well go the good price $185 route and get this gun cause with .25's or .30's you will be a murderer. i use this gun myself so i should know....

I'm sorry, but was there a point to this thread? And Xandman's right... you seem to have a few facts about the M14 misinterpreted here.

In airsoft, I can see the M14 playing a roll as a DMR if you have a rifle that is accurately upgraded for the task...but I do not see the SOC16 version ever being used as a CQB rifle...I have this mental image of the rifle entering a room 24" before you do, thus announcing your presence.

As a sniper, I would think that most AEG's would be too noisey...especially in matches that require covert or reconnaissance missions...a gas M14 would be sweet! I believe WE has one on the way too!

I'm rather new, so much of what I say is merely what I have read or been told, not actual experience... But the above observations seem rather obvious to me, am I far from wrong?

The WE gas M14 is a gas blowback, which throws stealth right out the window (seriously, I have one of the WE SCARS, and putting a silencer on it does nothing to quiet that behemoth down, if that's any indication).

Really, the key to stealth is to keep moving, keep quiet, and only take a shot if you absolutely need to. Sure, there are things you can do to your gun to quiet it down (such as silencers, or what I did when I stuffed my L96 with foam, and then bedded it with more foam, or when that guy wrapped his P90's gearbox in Dynamat), but the best way to not get found because your gun is too loud is to not fire the gun.

say what you want guys but if you get ur butt nailed every turn in CQB with a M14 thats ur own fault. i took it to PPN and did CQB Sniping just a week ago & i got 26 kills 0 death's.
