Improving tech skills?

Hey guys. I'm really wanting to improve my ability to truly "build" an airsoft DMR rifle. I'm not to comfortable with the gearbox though. How do you improve your ability to intensely understand and upgrade internals? Thanks for the help,

Thanks alot! Sounds like a good plan. Right now, i dont even know what compression, AOE, all that stuff means really. But thats what i am wanting to get better at, those detailed things. Thanks again,
