HPA dude, CO2 isn't as consistent.

CO2 isn't as consistent as HPA, but you'll get more economy out of CO2 (and actually, I've been fairly impressed with CO2's ability to keep up with me). Good thing if you do like I do and move one rig across 4-5 different rifles (and yes, 1 is a KJW M700P with 2 long mags).

I'm going to suggest a Palmer's rig, regardless of what gas you choose to fuel it. I just had to replace my regulator with one of theirs, and so far I really like it (wishing I'd just ponied up for one in the first place). If you get a Boulder reg, you've got it outputting right where you want it without any fuss - propane's resting pressure is right around 100-110 PSI.

I outlined a basic upgrade plan in that thread Reaper linked to. Before you take care of the hop up and barrel, I wouldn't worry about the gas system just yet.

Well, talk about timing, then.

OP, I also suggest you do some reading over in the Sniper forum at Airsoft Forum. There's a subforum for Tanaka sniper rifles, which is what the KJ M700 is based off of. In there, there's a guide written by Brainplay on how to make an air rig. Very well made, and it's the guide I used.

Also read around. That place is a treasure trove of information.

Assume about $150 for the rig, and use the rest to buy upgrades for the gun. In theory you should be okay.

I prefer CO2, but that's partially because there's only one place in town to fill HPA, and the store owner's a douche (seriously, he tried to sell me a $500 ICS 552). It's also more efficient than HPA if you live in a warmer climate such as most of TN. HPA tanks cost more (as much as $60-80, while you can pick up a 20oz CO2 tank for right around $20-25). Price difference is dependent on who fills the tank and what they charge. Right now I'm filling up my 20oz tank at Dick's Sporting Goods for right around $4 per fill. It takes a while for me to deplete that, even with the Escort MP5, 2 GBB M4s, and the KJW M700 sharing that tank (of course, I'm quite easy on the trigger). I've been planning to build a backpack rig that daisy-chains 2-3 20oz CO2 tanks for insanely long play time, but I was stopped in my tracks by a lack of the specific kind of backpack I need (long story for another time).

Palmer regs, as I previously noted, take pretty much all gases as long as input pressure is under 1500 PSI (CO2 rests at about 800 PSI, for comparison).

vul where is the best place online to look at possible ordering this stuff by the way you've convinced me to go the c02 route.

www.palmer-pursuit.com for the regulator or complete rig if they have one in stock. Amazon or your local Wally-World for the CO2 tank.
