He is right. The VSS and Dragunov have about as much in common as they do with the AK47. Sure, they are all generally the same idea, but the VSS is not even in the same caliber. The barrel is a giant suppressor, and basically the only part that is the same is the scope. For someone just wanting to get by, sure, you could tweak a SVD...but for us gun enthusiasts, we will probably slap you silly.

Its basically like that gun generator website. I want to pass out napalm donuts everytime i see some effed up child of a weapon come off that.


All in all, the VSS sucks, and is only good at close range. Its a longer range smg...designed for assassinations...SVD is designed basically as a longer ranged and more accurate AK47. (Like the M21 to the M14, in a roundabout way) and the only true sniper is the SV98 bolt action, and the various 12.7mm rifles that Russia has running around.

Cypher, it's not so much the VSS sucks as it's generally not what people on our side of the world are used to. It was designed to provide suppressed fire at longer ranges than an AK. The thing is, the 9x39mm round is a very heavy bullet, and with it being fired from a suppressed weapon (i.e. subsonic ammunition), it just doesn't have the kind of range a, for example, 7.62x54R does, nor does it have the oomph behind it.

Also, on the note of high-caliber rifles, there's an SVD chambered for a heavier round than the 54R. It's called the SVDK, and it chambers 9.3x64mm. An unusual caliber choice, and it's my understanding the round is proprietary; I don't know off the top of my head of any other rifles using that caliber.

This weapon looks really nice first time i see this kind of sniper i really like the figure and the quality of this weapon,, seems interested to have this kind.
