the weight of the CA M24 compared to the vsr is not a good thing. yeah it's heavy and the vsr is light, but that's a good thing. while with the real deal, the heavier the better, you're not gonna want that with an airsoft gun. mobility is key. the vsr doesn't really have a toyish feeling, but i can see how someone could say that. it's really not that big of a deal, but if it is, like someone said you could get the m40 stock for it. quality of the internals > cosmetics.
another thing i heard about the m24 was that it's very high maintenance. the biggest issue i heard was that the screws strip real easily. if you're the type of person who doesn't mind that and likes to take good care of the gun, go for it, but idk where you would find replacement screws. you shouldn't really be concerned about stock parts because you should upgrade it anyway. get nice upgrades for the m24 and you'll be set, just like with any other gun.
