I know you didn't ask this, but I really like the MOE handguard, and magpul finally released their MVG(MOE vertical Grip) for it so uh yea...

Don't worry, I'll tell you everything you need to know about gear. The more cool stuff you have, the better. Why? Because image is everything. Just a few months ago, I was probably the coolest looking guy in Afghanistan, and guess what, old mister hajji Akbar never messed with me. Because its a psychological thing.
Me personally, I have an issued plate carrier I bought, same exact thing we get issued except it wasn't free. Thus I look cool and I'm now the best. That's all there is to it, nothing more you need to know.

simple answer: yes
low profile ,small, REALLY LIGHT, cheap, and extreamly manoverable. great for CQB if you dont mind loosing the little protection a full vest brings you, and its most inportant benifit keeps you nice and cool.
