Help! Thompson 1928 Typewriter RAIL?

I removed the rear sight on my Thompson 1928 model and I would LOVE to find a rail for it.




These are the dimensions, as you can see there's a hole further back almost 3 inches. I found one with sliding screws for adjustments but it was 5 inches or so, and wouldn't fit.

If anyone could help me find any type of rail system that could attach to that setup in any way i'd be very grateful. I've looked for hours and can't find anything.

Some shops have rail slugs in different sizes that you can use. (If you going to "modernize" a Thompson, why not just make it a pulse rifle?)

Eh, I was actually trying to turn it into an LMG, I want to keep the old look somewhat.. I just want it to look a little different and have a nice mid range scope on it.

Really I don't think there is a rail made for Thompsons, it will probably have to be custom work.
