okay, slightly carried away on my hatred of them....but the IBA has been my nemesis since wearing one, getting smoked in one and running in one since basic in a Fort Knox heat wave. Since getting issued a useless ACU IOTV in a combat arms MOS while PoG aviation guys and fuelers, mechanics and supply guys got the MultiCam plate carriers.

Ill say that the IBA is much more comfortable than the IOTV which is overbuilt, bulky and hot with all 4 plates, kevlar inserts and a full load of ammo, water, IFAK etc. However both are bulky and not built to any form of conventional combat standards....more like something designed to keep you safe standing in a turret.

I am a fan of the CIRAS or the issued plate carriers. They were designed by somebody who has left a desk in their lifetime and knows what a b*tch Afghan terrain can be.

my vote goes to them or a useful chest rig. IBA/IOTV thumbs down.
