Smoke grenades

Got bored and started looking around for smoke grenades and found . Not sure what to make of it yet. Apparently they converted some fused smoke grenades to an electric-ignited system, using a 9v battery to ignite. They claim that it's cool burning.

They're a little more pricey than regular firework smoke grenades. $5 a pop, unless you buy a case of 60 for $240 But I guess that beats paying $15 a pop for distress floating smoke (boating stuff) or even worse, $40 each for real military smoke.

The vids don't play well with Firefox, so you can download them directly . A couple of them show lighting the grenades with a lighter, so I'm not sure what that's all about. Also, the guy's heavy breathing is a little disturbing.

Anyone found a good site for maybe ordering expired distress floating smoke? I sometimes see them on eBay for $5 or $6, but it's rare.

Well guys I have been staring at this post for awhile and just kind of was going to stay out of it. But I will give my opinion on it as the old saying "opinions are like assholes everybody has one.

1) Smoke is used in different ways actually a lot of ways depending on the grenade.
M-15wp this hand grenade is used a lot for signaling and screening incendiary device burns about 60seconds gets really hot and has a tendency to spark out a stuff load of particles that will burn you
M-8wp is for signaling and screening shoots out a lot of smoke for about a min and half this grenade should be used by airsofters for movement puts out layers upon layers of smoke very good for movement. What I made sure that every platoon had in there TO&E lots of these when we where doing patrolling techs and Squad movement.
M-18 This is good for signaling and light screening better for ground to ground or ground to air signaling. meaning the reentry of friendly lines or entering a mout site to let others know US forces are entering the city or for helo pick ups we used blue as friendly and red as Hot LZ so gun ships could be watching are six. but I would not recommend this as screening it is good up to min or so give or take and not really thick. I have only seen red or blue they say it they have green but never used or seen these. Probably went to the air force they had more money and better Equipment any ways remember this is just my version of this and I am not a know it all well maybe just a little bit…lol

Search for 'smoke' and it will pop up, this stuff is GREAT... just make sure you wear a gloves when pulling the tab.
