Looking like it's going to be a good turn out guys. We have guys driving in from all over the place, hence the camping the night before being allowed. Remember to invite anyone you know who might want to come out for something like this, and remember to get setup on our forum cause we have information you'll need on there that is not listed here. Get all the edge you can on the training we'll be providing!

Just to clear up any possible miscommunication by myself or another member of the forum this is a TRAINING date. This is our version of a one day bootcamp for our new players to teach them tactics that will succeed at National Events. Our goal is to teach you invididual and small unit tactics that will work on the Airsoft field. This is going to be a long, cold, hard day for many of you but you will learn a whole lot if you come out with an open mind. You will go home a lot more knowledgable about team tactics and what it takes to do well at the big events like Irene, and Pine Plains.

Any questions just post them!

Guys-

Here is a required gear list and tips for things to have when coming out to our Basic Operator's Training Course. Take the time to read each of these. This will be our version of boot camp for our guys and for you as well. It will be a long cold day out there. Here are items that our guys prefer to use and wear that help make the day a lot easier. Please have these items before coming out or something to work in place of these items. ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK!

**Hydration- you want to be fully hydrated before a day like this. Start drinking water and cut out the soft drinks and stuff days before the event. You’ll want to be drinking several bottles or glasses of water each day before. A tip to know you are properly hydrated is when your urine is completely clear. When it becomes yellow or has a yellow tint you know you are not hydrated** If you are not hydrated when you start the day this can cause problems very fast! When you first notice the early stages of dehydration like yellow tinted urine, muscle cramps, or when you stop sweating or urinating frequently (every 15-30 minutes) then you are already two quarts low of water, and are playing catch up to get hydrated again. With all the layers you’ll be wearing of clothing to stay warm you will be working up a sweat! HYDRATE and then HYDRATE some more.

Personal Gear - Clothing

*Footwear – Sturdy Hiking Boots or Combat boots with aggressive tread pattern and thick boot socks, like wool socks work very well for this since it’s very likely to be cold. Tennis shoes are not recommended as they don’t have the tread or stability of a good boot. It’s easy to twist or turn an ankle wear tennis shoes so make sure you have a sturdy lace up boot.

*Pants – Camo BDU or ACU Pants, Cargo Pants, or at worst case jeans. These should be something that you don’t mind getting dirty or damaged. Under the pants wear long underwear to keep your legs warm since it’s traditionally cold at the January BOC course. Thermal underwear and the Under Armor sweat wicking cold gear works well too! Be mindful of materials like cotton that could absorb water, having wet pants all day when it’s cold is not fun!

*Tops- Camo BDU or ACU tops work very well, again wear something that will keep you warm and you don’t mind getting dirty. Our guys wear a sweater or sweatshirt under our ACU camo tops in order to stay warm. When in thick long sleeve shirt will help, but dress in layers to stay warm.

*Gloves- Flight Gloves are great for this type of weather. You will want gloves that have leather on your palms and fingers so that if the glove gets wet your hands aren’t cold. You want a thick enough glove to stay warm but still be able to use your weapon.

*Head & Neck– Wear a ballcap, patrol cap, beanie, or bonnie cap to keep your head warm and keep the heat in your body insulated. Also you will want something to cover your face like a Shamag or Scarf, something that can cover your ears and your mouth to keep the wind off of your face. We highly recommend using the Shamag as it works very well to keep head warm.

*Study Belt and Suspenders to hold your pants up. Be sure to have a sturdy gun belt like a riggers belt or web belt, and many of our guys use suspenders to hold our pants up. If you have a little bit of a gut and no butt then you’ll want this. Even if you’re skinny you’ll want these! You will be up and down a lot during the day and suspenders although not ‘tacti-COOL’ sure help you from having to pull up your huggies all day long from the weight of your pistol or pants.
*Lip Balm, it is very cold out there and having chapped cracked lips stinks.

Tactical Gear

*Sling! All of our guys have a sling, mostly one point sling. Having the ability to sling your weapon instead of holding it saves wear and tear on your body throughout the day when you have to stand around with all your gear on.

*A Load Bearing Vest for your magazines, BBs, and other goodies. Whether you prefer a basic chest rig or something more elaborate like a CIRAS or RRV being able to comfortably carry your gear for long periods of time will help you get through the operator’s course!

*Full Seal Goggles with an ANSI rating. Some of the firing that will be going on will be in a CQB environment for training. Do not wear shooting glasses as BBs could go around them. It’s not worth risking your eyesight!

*Spare AEG Battery. “One is none, and two is one” is a good saying we use on the team. If your battery fails you cause it’s cold then you’re done for the day, having a spare will keep you going. When carrying the spare I recommend you keep it in a pocket close to your body to keep the battery warm! Breast pockets work great for this.

UPDATE: If you are under 18 years old make sure you have your parents sign a copy of the Normal FPS Waiver & The Medical Waiver that you can print off from the below website. You won't be admitted on the field without it.

6 Days left!!! Last Minute Tips:

1.) Be Sure you have a 2011 Waiver filled out and ready, especially those of you under 18 who also need your parents signature.

2.) It's going to be cold in the morning, be sure to dress in layers.

3.) Pack up your gear the night before, have your batteries charged, mags loaded, etc.

4.) Be ready there and be ready to go by 7:30am because at 8:00am we're shutting the gates to the field, and starting our day.

5.) Check the list below if you're name doesn't appear on it, I don't know you're coming

P.S.> Anyone camping the night before, the field will be unlocked around 4pm for you to arrive and setup camp for the night. A Gun Devil will be on hand to answer any immediate questions you have.
