The year is 2033.
Over the past 16 years the world has been transformed. Nations have risen, alliances have been forged, and an entire nation has been annihilated. The Soviet Union has risen out of the ashes, developing new weaponry, forming new alliances, and exerting new amounts of military force that have left the world stunned and awed.
One by one, former Soviet satellites and puppets have once again fallen behind the Iron Curtain. Romania, Georgia, and the Ukraine have become military strongholds on their own right, strong arming the Soviet Agenda throughout the Black Sea region. The Soviets have finally succeeded in the establishment of a puppet state in Afghanistan as well as Pakistan. Some former Soviet satellite nations are attempting to hold out against the Soviet agenda, but their strength is slowly beginning to fail.
All around the world the landscape has changed in stunning and unimaginable ways. Britain and France have fallen victim to internal political struggles and the current regimes are both sympathetic to the Soviet cause. North Korea ,initially an ally Soviet Union, was forsaken by the Soviets after a failed attack on the Chinese. The Chinese response was crushingly brutal. The Korean peninsula is once again a unified nation under the rule of the former South Korean government. Cuba and Somalia have become thriving industrial powerhouses backed by Soviet technology, financing, and engineering.
Through satellite and drone surveillance, the world powers have been watching the Soviet military and its allies move troops and supplies in a seemingly chaotic fashion.The United States, the People’s Republic of China, Israel, India, and Germany stand ready to use military action to oppose the Soviet expansion as a new Allied Force.
Recently troops and equipment have been flowing out of Soviet-backed Romania into the embattled state of Bulgaria. The Bulgarians intensely oppose Soviet rule, but the resistance is weakening over time. Reports are that crimes against humanity are increasing at an alarming rate and the Bulgarian military has collapsed, leaving bands of guerrilla resistance to oppose the Soviet invasion. It is estimated that the Soviet military presence now outnumbers the Bulgarian populace left in the area. Most alarming is that the Soviets appear to be moving very large equipment into the area. It’s unclear what is going on, or why Bulgaria is so important to the Soviets, but whatever the case is, it cannot be a good thing.
The Bulgarian resistance movement has reached out to the new Allied Powers for military and financial aid but the official response has been silent. The Soviet military seems to be daring anyone to oppose its strength. They appear to have something big up hidden up their sleeve. The Allies hope to discover this through reconnaissance, but time seems to be ticking. If something is not done to stop the Soviet advance, most of Europe and Central Asia will be either under direct Soviet control or sympathetic to the Soviet cause.
The world stands at a new dawn.
