"IRENE IRENE IRENE....I say again, IRENE"

OLCMSS announces that Operation Irene VIII will be held again this year at the Ft. Knox, KY Zussman Urban Training Center, the premier MOUT facility in the USA, over the course of the weekend of Oct. 29-31, 2010 (confirmed).

This year will see Col. Danny R. McKnight, US Army Ranger (ret.) and 1SG Matt Eversmann, US Army Ranger (ret.), veterans of the actual Somali conflict made famous in the movie "Blackhawk Down", lead the "Task Force Ranger" side. They will be joined by MSG Howard "Mad Max" Mullen, 26 year US Army Ranger (ret.) veteran, co-author of the US Army Ranger Hand to Hand combat manual, and OLCMSS legendary "March or Die" leader to form a formidable leadership team.

Leading the "Freedom Fighters" representing the Somali Militias/Clans will be SGT Igor Dobroff, USSR Airborne(ret.) trooper and combat veteran of the USSR's early '80's Afghanistan campaign. SGT Dobroff is well versed in both conventional and unconventional warfare.

In addition to the great leadership, fantastic "second to none" site, and great airsoft players from all over the country, expect a couple of "surprises" thrown into the mix this year that have not been seen before at any previous Irene events.
