Hey all- I'm hosting a game in a couple months and it will be my first time hosting a non-backyard game and the first time that a game will have ever been hosted at the location I will be using.

On top of that, I think I am also likely to wind up with a lot of young and inexperienced players in attendance.

So I'm thinking that I will be wanting to stick to simple game types are not too complex and do not require many props.

I'd like to know what are some of you guys favorite "simple" scenarios or games types?

attack & defend. the attacking team must take out the defending team in a certain amount of time if not the defending team wins.

Watch some of scoutthedoggie on YouTube. They do a lot of scenario type games with a flat terrain...

If the area has places 1to 3 people could hide in, consider a stealth type of game. Heavily outnumbered. Small team has to escape the field at a designated point to win. Let the players form suitable teams, then let each team be the stealth guys. win or lose, then rotate in the next small team.

Depending on numbers and organization, don't forget the classic (team)deathmatch and its variants like reviving etc.

Or you can do an object search mission. 1 team decides where to hide something(pizza box, clock, ANYTHING) and the other team has to find and return it to the safe zone.

If the crowd you are dealing with is JUST young and inexperienced players, you'll probably want to deal with the faster paced games like zombies, tdm, dm, etc though.

I have to admit I've never played in a zombie game so I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

Basically a small group of people start off as the zombies and infect the general population correct?

keep it simple. just do capture the flag or any of its off-shoots

simple scenarios for simple players. if they get it right, then up the complexity a bit and go towards more objectives.

Have them kill each other off first, team on team. If they jack that up....then don't consider anything harder.
