Well, I haven't read all of the research but it does increase HDL (high density lipoprotien), that is the good one. It also increases blood circulation, causing your skin to fill iwth blood vessels. That is why you feel warm.
It also contributes to dehydration beacuse it is a diuretic. It eff over your heat regulation and decreases blood sugar levels. More than a small amount of alcohol increases your rick for heart disease.
So pretty much, with dinner 1 glass is fine. 2/3 of america is 20% overweight and ~1/3 of those are classified as obese. Personaly, I suggest people stop trying to figure out how much alcohol they can drink and get out and run.
