As of a couple of years ago (my first year, whenever that was - I think it was '08), MTAC started allowing disabled (IE no battery, barrel out, etc.) airsoft guns. They look over it, then ziptie the trigger or tell you to get it off the floor and out to the car/room.
Around here, Midsouthcon has always allowed them. I've only been stopped once to get checked, and that was this year (really, they were more looking for an excuse to fondle a cool-looking toy). AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta), on the other hand, has a standing "no steel" policy (no live weapons of any kind, airsoft guns included). It really all depends on the con.
