Paint Question

I am looking to get a friend to paint my gun for me (she is an amazing artist) and I was wondering what type of paint or coating I need to get... obviously this is going to be played with so... suggestions please

I would go with a flat paint that is made for metal and plastics. Also they male a clear coat that is flat also you really don't want a shiny gun lol.

I've been thinking of doing this as well. I was thinking krylon ultra-flat camo for the base colors and act as a primer on the plastic parts then various paints for detail, then multiple coats of matte/flat clear coat to protect the artwork. I'd still expect it to get f'ed up in use though. So you know my perspective, until I started airsoft last year I had been a hardcore model/miniatures builder/painter for over 20 years so someone from say auto painting background may have a better idea.

What about Duracoat? I know it isn't cheap, but from what I understand, it lasts a long time.

Krylon/Rustoleum is great, but will wear off (which I think looks cool) and duracoat is good too if you can do it yourself and dont mind the price.

GET DURACOAT! It 's what i use on my real steel and airsoft guns. Lasts forever and is hard to scratch or chip. Look it up on ebay

Krylon has a camo line out of ultra flat black, tan, brown and od. Ive used this stuff for pretty much everything from airsoft guns to my motorcycle. It dries in seconds and theres barely any prep work required to the base coat. Ive found its also very durable as far as spray cans go.
