Dead End 8/7: Basher 5-2 AAR

An interesting day of games!
This was an abstract of the 1995 Capt. O'Grady rescue conducted by the 24th MEU in Bosnia.

I was tempted to make the pilot eat a bug for a true milsim experience, but I don't think that would bother him so I didn't bother.

Ironically we had a Bosnia vet on board leading the Serb militia lol.

Also, Ian's brother Chris checked in fresh from Afghanistan, hope we see more of another fellow jarhead here depending on where he gets deployed by Gen. Wifey in the 1st Civ Div.

First mission: Locate "Zulu" (downed pilot)
Mobile respawns, modified "Lions Claws" medic rules, if pilot is hit is incapacitated and may be "dragged" to spawn for win.
Marines: Exfil the pilot
Serbian Militia: Capture the pilot
Pilot: Remain in crash area until ambushing Serbs (to keep pilot from immediately going back to Marine spawn)
Time: 1 hour

The Marines landed via helo in a deserted village and immediately deployed towards general location of crash site.
Pilot was dropped off at the midway point and instructed to hide real good.
Serbian militia from a nearby town was already en route to the area to check the crash site for survivors.

Pilot was well concealed and preparing to conduct his required ambush, when he coughed while drinking some water and caught the attention of his potential victims. The Serb patrol was quite pleasant and inquired whether he was OK...and BTW you're our prisoner LOL!

Zulu was escorted back to the Serb mobile spawn for an official win, but while relieving himself made his escape (after announcing his intentions to his weary guard) for the fun of it, managing to work his way back and link up with the Marines and head back towards the extraction point.

Mission 2: GET TO THE CHOPPA!
Hard respawns, no medics
Marines/Pilot: Escort Zulu safely through the village to Dash-2 (the waiting helo).
Serbian Militia: Keep Zulu from reaching the helo.

With the heat on the field, and the hard fighting by all, the Serbs straggled towards the village while the Marines dug deep and charged in head-first and quickly took the town. However, the Militia morale stiffened when an RPG team arrived and began to provide support. With limited training on a not-very-accurate weapon system, the first three shots had no effect. However, the fourth shot aimed at knocking out the town hall and the Marines within, veered off course and landed at the pilot's feet, blowing him to smithereens and causing an official minor victory for the Serbs.

However...there was apparently a misunderstanding, and the Marine team allegedly  (lol) didn't know they were supposed to get the pilot to the helo, but they had fun nonetheless. 8)
