Operation: Mid-Winter will be a two day charity airsoft event to collect toys for the Boys and Girls Club of Athens, GA, for distribution to needy children in the Athens area in time for Christmas.
This community charity normally get most of their toys through the Toys For Tots program, but last year TFT contributions
We have a chance to help fix that, and make some youngsters' Christmas a merry one.
The first day of the event will be several not-necessarily-related scenarios with short breaks between each. There will be unconventional scenarios as well as some normal mil-sim scenarios. There will also be possible night games depending on illumination levels, weather, and other safety conditions.
What are "unconventional" scenarios? Well, without giving too much away I will just say that in the evening there may be some zombies running about for a scenario and at some point there may be SAR teams competing to 'rescue' a large bearded man in red who was apparently shot down while flying a sleigh!
Day two will consist of a humorous free-for-all two team capture territory game, codenamed .
Entry for the event is free with the donation of any combination of new, unwrapped toys of at least $20.00 total value. You're on your honor. Please do remember that kids come in different ages and genders.
Even if you are the hardest-core mil-sim airsofter please, come on out and have some light-hearted fun with your airsoft brothers and sisters while giving to a very worthy cause. Kids should have some toys for Christmas and we can provide some to those that might otherwise go without.
You guys and gals are all invited. There are no uniform, weapon, magazine type, or ammo limits for this event, so bring that friend who wanted to give airsoft a try.
Directions to the field can be accessed through Georgia Airsoft's website (above). More detailed information on the schedule and scenarios to come so
