After long deliberation and much debate the British finally decided to pull out of Basrah. It is a small step and peace activist in the country take it as a small victory. Peace activist continue to demonstrate as long as the soldiers continue to fight. Some of the protests, while promoting peace, erupt in violence. Some citizens think that if the peace activist fought in Iraq as much as they fought in their own country the war would already be over.
After the British pulled out of Basrah and turned over control to the IAF, Basrah has been teetering on the brink of civil war. The British and Americans are concerned that this may be seen as a loss for coalition forces and a win for insurgents. The morale swing will only strengthen resistance in the area. Fueled by religious differences, Al Queada influences and the Iranians quest for control of the region the IAF has had a difficult time curbing violence and quelling the impending civil war. While the Americans debate to see who be the next president the Iraqis fight to stay alive.
Due to the heavy violence in the area, rumors report that the US is considering hiring a private military group called SoGuBa, and deploying them into the region to aid the IAF in controlling the random outbreaks of violence. While these reports and rumors remained unconfirmed, people keep asking why the US doesn’t just take control of the country. Strategist believe that the US military is more than willing to contract security jobs because they are intent on invading Iran in the near future.
Some analysts believe that with the unrest in the region the British will once again be back in the region. Who can say? Only time will tell in the near future. What are the Americans prepared to do? Speculation is that action will be taken by late June. Will the British patrol the streets once again? Will the Iranians or Al Quaeda be in the crosshairs of the British?
