South and Central America-2009
The US has discovered a large buildup of Soviet-made equipment in several Latin America countries. Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Honduras...Mexico. In order to gain the information he needs on the buildup, a CIA officer has agreed to assist a drug cartel in the movement of a billion US dollars in cartel cocaine from down south into the USA.
Group 14, the anti-drug task force of the Colombian army, has their own mole in the cartel however...a mole who has no clue that the man moving the coke is actually a CIA officer and intends to turn the coke over to Federal authorities in Texas.
Group 14 has pursued the CIA officer and his equally clueless drug allies relentlessly to a spot near the Panama-Mexico border where the infamous Mexican cartel Los Zetas are waiting in ambush to capture the drugs. Their mole in G-14
informed them of the movement of the dope. The problem...the Los Zetas mole is also a CIA asset. He knows where the bodies are buried and intends to expose the CIA officer to put a stain on the US's honor.
G-14 mission: get the dope
CIA mission: deliver the dope to the FBI in Texas
Los Zetas mission: get the dope, capture the CIA officer and force him to make a statement that the US is running drugs into its own country.
DIA mission: take custody of the dope and the information the CIA officer has...and kill the renegade CIA asset whom they have discovered.
(Yes, it reads like a Brad Thor novel. Good luck.)
