Spook it sounds great in theory...

We tried something like this Scenario at Ill Wind.

Make Sure it is Clear that P.O.W.'s are to be kept alive... I.e. not placed infront of a Machine Gun nest, that is firing.

Make sure that either both teams know where the crash site is. Or neither does. Watch for cheaters if you hide the crash site.

Expect the unexpected.

I played this at Sweetwater and my team completely screwed ourselves. Any advice on how to work well in this game?

1. No, BHD is old hat. This scenario was never related to BHD in the least.

2. This is simply a damaged bird that had to sit down.

You could have the rescue team split up into 2 fireteam of 4 or 5 and one fireteam (Alpha) could go strait for the Insurgents and the other fireteam (Bravo) could go to the crash sight. Fireteam Alpha will try to buy Fireteam Bravo some time by keeping the insurgent force back with suppressing fire. Once fireteam Bravo has reached the crash site and prepared the crew for escort to the extraction point the Fireteam Bravo Commander can communicate (walkie talkie, headset, ect..) with the Fireteam Alpha Commander and update them on the situation. Then Fireteam Bravo can start making their way back to the extraction point with the crew. Once fireteam Bravo is safely behind the covering fire of fireteam Alpha, fireteam Alpha can begin to fall back while keeping up the suppressing fire.

Its perfect on paper but im not sure it will work. What do you think?

In hostile country, it's not wise to divide a small force by a large amount of space. Should Alpha get pinned down by a superior enemy force, they would quickly be overrun, leaving only half the number of men originally deemed necessary to carry out the operation.

That said, dividing your unit into a cover force and a medic/rescue group and separating them by a small amount of space is not a bad idea. An outer perimeter and an inner perimeter. The cover force encircles the smaller medic and extraction group so they can work treating and/or cutting anyone out of the wreckage. The whole group would search for the aircrew together.
