So I was thinking... how do you do an airsoft game where one team's goal is actually to infiltrate without being caught or seen? Every "stealth" game I've been in the past isn't really stealth because the defending team at least knows when the other team is attacking (because you have a defined start to the game and no one is going to want to have hours of patrolling before the action starts).
I came up with this. Essentially you have a day of games, just like any other regular game day. Just a bunch of people out in a field shooting each other for whatever reasons they see fit. It doesn't matter whats being played, just that there is very little downtime between games, probably respawns, and most likely bases to defend. The catch is that you have a small stealth team with an objective they have a to accomplish by the end of the day. Maybe you have 20 or so people just playing whatever (10 man teams) and then a 5 man stealth team. While the 20 people are fighting each other they also (both teams) have to prevent the stealth team from completing their objective. They're not really expecting the stealth team at a specific time, and their attention will most likely be focused on the other 10 man team, but they still have to keep the infiltrators in the back of their mind. The stealth team has to avoid both teams and accomplish their objective without being spotted, since both sides are hostile and will possibly unite against the stealth team if they are discovered leading to a 20 on 5 massacre. Stealth team may or may not have respawns or a medic, but they should probably have a large area where they can hide out that no one else can go, since you can only run so far on limited field before you get pinned up against a border you can't cross. This forbidden area would also prevent the stealth team from being pinned into one place and allow them to approach their objectives from many different angles.
A background for the stealth team could be "two sides of a civil war are fighting over ______ at ______. Both sides are considered hostile to us and will shoot you on site. Your objective is to infiltrate both teams' bases and recover valuable intel...."
I think this would add multiple layers of gameplay to both sides (regular game and stealth). The stealth's game would of course be awesome. Speed and invisibility would be key. Hide out, wait for your moment, dash in, and then disappear before your enemy can regroup and counterattack. However, it also adds some to the regular games being played. No matter how good you're doing, no matter whats happening, you always have to watch you're back and be ready to respond on a new front at moment's notice.
I'm definitely open to more ideas, so please add your imput.
I live in Memphis during the school year and near Knoxville in the summer and during breaks, so if someone decides to do this game please tell me and if possible schedule it at a time when I'm near enough to attend.
