Operation: Lost Loyalties

Postby Coolpapajase » Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:58 pm

So I'm putting this scenario into a bid to be used by a nation wide event happening at Bad Karma in Tennessee. This is my scenario I've put forward, so I was hoping for feedback about what I could improve. It is my property, so please don't steal.

Operation: Lost Loyalties

Setting

The year is 1987, and the Cold War is finally starting to thaw. Perestroika is beginning to take effect, and Reagan and Gorbachev are both dialing down their commentary and meeting in crucial arms talks. However, not everyone is satisfied. In Diego Garcia, Navy SEAL Vladimir Alekseyev is enraged. All his life, he has hated the Russians with a passion, and with good reason. After Stalin’s rise to power, the Russians closed off food shipments to the Ukraine, where his grandparents lived. They died, and ever since he was young, Alekseyev has been taught to hate and fear the Russians. Now, peace seems to be coming, and all chance of Alekseyev being able to take up arms against his nemesis is slipping away. However, it is not entirely gone.

Seventy-two hours ago, Naval Intelligence intercepted a report of a Russian trawler passing through the Suez Canal—a trawler carrying valuable cargo; a Russian thermonuclear device. Vladimir heard about it. Fifty hours ago, he and his team of elite soldiers went AWOL.

Forty-six hours ago, the Russian military lost contact with the trawler. A Russian submarine sent to investigate found the crew slaughtered—and the nuke missing.

Thirty-six hours ago, the Soviet ambassador to Washington met with the President of the United States, accusing him of stealing the weapon. The accusation was quickly denied, but the military was ordered to shake down all U.S. installations in the area.

Thirty-three hours ago, Washington found out that the SEALs are missing and puts two-and-two together. Hurriedly, a huge, covert team is assembled and flown out to the Eastern Europe. The rogue SEALs must be found and stopped.

Twenty-four hours ago, the team arrived at Diego Garcia under cover of night, but they had nowhere to go from there. They had to sit and wait for a report to tell them where the SEALs are.

Ten hours ago, they got it. A U.S. ELINT satellite intercepted a single communication to Moscow from a Russian sentry outpost near Temopil, Ukraine. “We are under attack by unidentified forces. Send reinforcements, and please advise.” A reply was sent from Moscow, but was not answered.

Nine hours ago, a second spy satellite spotted a Russian motor-rifle convoy moving out of Kiev to investigate. Meanwhile, the American force is being given instructions. They must find and neutralize the SEAL team. At the same time, they must kill any Russians that come in contact with them, to prevent word of their presence to return to Moscow and start a political incident.

Two hours ago, the U.S. team parachuted in.

One hour ago, the Russian convoy arrived at the outpost to find everyone there dead. They immediately set up base and begin making plans; they will find and kill all unfriendly forces in the region. Meanwhile, the SEALs are planning to set off the bomb in the middle of the communist base before escaping, obliterating the entire Russian force that has been lured into their trap.

Objectives

The objective system is slightly different in Operation: Lost Loyalties. Each team will be working towards earning points. Each team has a main objective, worth most of the available points. But they also have many side objectives, which will gain them small amounts of extra points. Teams will have to decide which objectives they try for, as completing some small objectives may give you an advantage when the scores are tallied. The main objectives are listed below; the side objectives will be released later.

Rogue Forces

Explode the nuke in the Russian base and escape using the Russian helicopter pad.

American Forces

Capture the WMD and prevent the SEALs from escaping. Also, kill the Russian commander to prevent him from reporting to his superiors about U.S. presence.

Communist Forces

Prevent the SEALs from exploding the nuke and prevent them from escaping. Also, protect their commander.

Teams

American Forces – The American forces will be wearing a tan based uniform. These forces will be comprised of members from the elite Delta Force, Marine Force Recon, and Seal teams. Though they only have a medium amount of men, their leadership is strong, and their abilities even stronger. Split into squads of six, the American forces are able to attack many objectives at once, though they must work together towards the final objective. 3 Color desert, or Chocolate Chip bdu’s are necessary. MOLLE will be allowed, though ALICE is preferred.

Communist Forces – The Cold War is at its climax, and the Russian presence is huge. The Communist Forces are large and powerful. Wearing OD green based uniforms, mainly M81 woodland BDU’s and stolen Flecktarn, as well as Russian patterns, these forces hide deep in the forested mountain of Ukraine. They have no squads; instead, they have large search parties. They have enough men to successfully beat both opponents and retrieve the WMD. These forces will have minimal tactical gear, chest rigs will be common.

Rogue Forces – Straying from their original mission and going rogue, this SEAL team is highly trained, and some of the most respected operators in the world. They have the smallest number of men compared to the other two teams. Their base is not stationary, it’s movable. They move where they can survive. Because their mission was top secret, they wore nothing that could attach them to the United States. Their uniform consisted of misc camos, and plain color uniforms, such as Asian Tiger Stripe. Their loadout is very similar to modern day PMCs. MOLLE gear will be allowed, even though it is not date accurate. The Rogue Forces will be have extremely nice gear, but at the same time, high speed.

Teams will be given materials at the beginning of the game to construct their bases. The Rogue Team will have a very temporary base. The teams will have a designated area in which to build, as well as a tent for the commanding officers.

The Rogue Team will be given time before the match starts to hide their WMD and/or setup a small base.

This sounds very cool, and I can definitely see it happening at Bad Karma.

My only suggestion is to set the Rouge-Seals color scheme to black/urban

Keep all green-based (Including Tiger stripe) to Russian.

Otherwise, sounds like a fun scenario and I'd attend should you allow minors.

I have to agree. There are plenty of green-based uniforms that can be used for the Soviet forces, and plenty of black-based uniforms the Rogues can use. It'll be far simpler to keep track of teams this way. If you let the Rogues use almost any uniform they want, it'll make it hard to distinguish some of them from the Soviet team. Keep it tan-based/green-based/black-based for the best results.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, after talking to a friend, I decided to change the uniforms to the following:

Communists - M81
US Forces - DCU
SEALs - PMC (must wear black t-shirt or fleece)

It'd just make it easier in a big op for everyone to look the same.

Sadly, it looks like the guys choosing don't like my scenario... They prefer a scenario about terrorists flying into the US as tourists then raising hell in TN.
