Downed Pilot/Pilots

Postby Supersixtwo » Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:52 pm

I know there is already one about aircrews however mine is ever so slightly different.
Team1= Home Country force
This team could be comprised of an Army or a Militia who control all but a small area. This Home country force could be comprised of mainly people newer to the game.

Team2= Extraction team
This would be a small group of the better players who show up. This would be because they would be outnumbered by a decent number.

The Pilot/Pilots
The pilot/pilots would be taken to a area on the map possibly while blindfolded or made to have limited sight then spun several times to make them disoriented. The pilot/pilots would only have a pistol and limited ammo so they would be forced to try to hide and elude the Home Country Force.

Team1's mission is to capture the Pilot/Pilots alive for interrogation. Team1 would be split into maybe a few small teams to search for the downed pilot/pilots. The Home Team Force would have to capture the Pilot/Pilots and hold them for a predetermined amount of time.

Team2's mission would be to find the pilot/pilots first and take them to a predetermined extraction zone unharmed. If found that the pilot/pilots have already been captured they would have to mount a rescue before the predetermined amount of holding time expires.

A addition might be a crash site where a USB drive would be hidden in the debris which would show the location of both bases so who ever finds it and gets it back to base could put it into a computer and have an advantage over the other team.
The pilot/pilots would know the location of the crash site.

We've played this at some of our games before, it can be really fun, especially when you have someone who makes are really good pilot who won't be captured without a fight.

No idea is ever truely original anymore!
I figured, however I have never played on a feild before. Last time I played airsoft I was maybe 17 and it was 1 on 1 pistols only. That was about 10 years ago.

The only thing wrong with this that I see is the specifications. New to game and better players. Even if outnumbered the people with headsets and extremely nice weapons would win, where as the team without as good weaponry would be raped. As long as some people with good guns were on Home Army it could be fun.

We typically engineer it to where the rescue team will have the upper hand once they rescue the pilot.

We generally try to make a second objective that both teams need the pilot for.

I got the idea from the Scott O'Grady story of a pilot who was downed behind enemy lines and a small marine force sent to pick him up. But I understand it might not really work. I have never actualy played airsoft game that wasn't just two or three friends with pistols in a backyard.
