Traitor Scenario

Postby Shade » Sun Jun 06, 2010 9:13 pm

So I normally play with a small group of people in a few square acres of area, so this is a little complex. Area size doesn't matter, but a low number of total players is key, no more than 10, probably at least like 6. The only other thing required is a designated extractiion point. This is based on honesty. Killed personell can't tell who killed them if it is still a secret, the informant can't prematurely remember who the traitor is, so on and so forth. Scince we already have to be honest in calling our hits, it souldn't be a problem. One hit is out. Don't call hits during the stealth stage, merely hold up your gun and move to the P&R area. No respawns.

BACKGROUND AND STORYLINE
This scenario is great for when you have an odd man out. Someone volunteers (or is volunteered) to be 'the informant'. The informant has a number of cards equal to the other players. The cards mean nothing, except one person is 'the traitor'. They select cards at random from the informant and look at them, not telling other players what they have. Then they one at a time hand the cards back to Mr. Informant, slowly enough so that he can see which person is the traitor. Players CAN'T keep their cards, for reasons explained later.

Informant goes off and hides. Players should already be broken into fireteams of 2 (one team of 3 if there is an odd man out). They give some time for the informant to hide and then search, keeping a fair amount of distance between them. Compatants can carry any weapons normally allowed. The informant carries nothing (combat wise).

OBJECTIVES
Combatants A: capture the informant and move him to the extraction point. To capture they must be with in a certain distance (like five feet) and have a gun pulled on him/her. The informant yields and goes with them, offering no further difficulties. The informant cannot go directly to a team, as he 'doesn't know' who the traitor is (explained later). Once the informant is moved to the extraction point he instantly remembers who the traitor is and saddles up for some hellbringin. He tells the combatants who the traitor is. After this is completed, move on to objective B. The informant becomes a combatant.*

Combatants B: Kill the traitor and keep him/her from the extraction point. If successful, they win the game.

*if the traitor is killed in objective A for anyreason (like he kills the informant and someone finds out, he gets shot or he tries to take out his partner and fails) the combatants win.

Traitor A: Kill the informant and anyone who sees you do it and make it to the extraction point. If someone sees you kill the informant, then they may start screaming loudly, so try to do it quietly, If successful, the traitor wins. If combatant objectice A is completed first, move on to objective B or C.**

Traitor B: Everyone knows who you are and it is time to get out. Move to the extraction point, and stay there for 20 sec undetected to win. ( a preset timer should be set at the extraction point)

Traitor C: Kill all combatants and move to the extraction point unchallenged. If all combatants are killed, the traitor wins.

**if the enemy knows who the traitor is after he/she kills the informant, but before the traitor makes a stealthy getaway, the traitor must move on to objective B or C

GAMEPLAY
This is where the coniving begins. You know there is a traitor somewhere, and you don't know if it is the person in your fireteam with you. Everytime you turn your back on them they could try to take you out quietly. No one has their card, so they can't prove their true loyalty. Also, the traitor can run from his partner and call him out, saying he tried to kill him, sending the other fireteams in a premature hunt for the traitor. He can also sow paranoia among the combatants anyway he chooses. Say Jon and Matt are on a fire team. Jon could secretly knife Matt, then borrow his gun and fire a few rounds. Jon could then run off (with Matt dead) and say Matt tried to kill him, sending the other teams into a wild goose chase.

I plan on testing this out in a couple weeks, any suggesions are welcome.
