thinking (yes that can be dangerous) we talk about MILSIM and what it is. But nobody talks about how we can make it more Realistic..
I will start with a few ideas that has popped in to my head.
1) we are doing a 2Day event lets say Sat and Sun why not start Reg on Friday night those that check in early on Friday get to start the game on Stand2 the next morning. The reason for this is the push for High ground the next morning sort of early bird catches the worm.
Those that check in after Friday by 0900 get to do the next game with the stand2.
I feel that games need to start earlier then they do to give more bang for the buck.
2) Instead of calling troops out of the field for lunch keep them in there spot till lunch is over lets say .30m. Then resume play. make them carry there lunch. They do not need hamburgers and hot dogs and pizza for lunch. every city just about has a army, navy store in it and MRE's are about $5.00 dollars.
3) When briefing
On Friday night bring your CO's In for a briefing Just give them the Overall mission. let The CO run with it let them prep there Company for the Next morning Mission This will provide more on the Planning and staging of SQ's, Plan routes, actions at the ORP this could actually be real benefit to The Company
4) Lo/mid cap rule
5) Medics
medics just about have to be Referees given just 5 basic cards with 5 basic medical calls that you will have to treat. the battlesim idea is great and it would make for some good play.
6) Uniforms Regs need to be more strict then they are.
7) The use of land nav
Before I get yelled at listen. you do not go and play chess with out really knowing how to play. So you should not be playing in a milsim event If you can not do the basics of landnav.
So I leave it open there add some ideas that you have and lets discuss them as adult's. Instead of a bunch of ladys bitching about what color to paint a wall...
