The Alternative Sport (TAS) Field Info,Games Rules

Postby TAS-WES » Thu Mar 05, 2009 3:35 pm

The field is a 5+ acre, wooded course. Several structures and lots of bunkers are constructed on the field, but enough space in-between bunkers to make it a technical and challenging course.

Power outlets for charging will be available to run chargers, however you will have to charge at the pro shop which is away from the wooded course. Charging space is limited. It would be a good idea to consider having a secondary or backup battery just in case.

Game styles will vary from date to date. Players are encouraged to think of scenarios that could be utilized. Scenarios should be well thought out, easy to explain, and easy to implement with a group of 50 players. ________________________________________________________

Field Rules/Regulations:

Players must be at least 14 years of age to engage in airsoft activities at TAS. Waivers must be signed and turned in prior to play. Players under age 18 will need a parent to sign the waiver as well. (Wavier can be downloaded at the bottom of this thread).

The field rules and regulations will be provided at each event for review by players who may not have seen them. Ignorance however is not an excuse. We will provide these to any interested party before the games for review, but no exceptions will be made to them because someone may not have known better.

Wristbands:

TAS will be providing wristbands for the day’s event upon payment of field fees. This wristband must be worn at all times and must be visible in order to enter the field of play before each game. The bands should not be removed for any reason during the day of play. Any player who attempts to enter the field of play without a wrist band or is caught playing without a wristband will be immediately removed from the field of play.

Mask/Eye Protection:

Only players with acceptable eye protection will be allowed to engage in gaming at TAS. There are absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. ONLY full sealed goggles, full face protective paintball style masks, or mesh style masks WITH prescription or safety glasses worn underneath will be authorized for use at TAS. SHOOTING GLASSES ALONE ARE NOT PERMITTED. Certain other styles such as Wiley X sealed shooting glasses or eye protection of a similar kind are not encouraged, and their use will have to be determined by the field owners. These eye protection rules apply to players, as well as photographers, and spectators who choose to take the field.

Eye protection must be properly worn AT ALL TIMES while on the field and upon exit to the staging area, even if the current game has been stopped. Failure to comply with this rule will result in players being denied access to the playing field. If anyone is found to have removed authorized eye protection and to have replaced it with unacceptable types, serious disciplinary action could be taken.

If you do not have proper eye protection you will not be allowed to play.
Rental Masks are available at the pro-shop for $5 for the day.

Dead Rags:

Dead rags are required for you to play at the field, and will not be provided. If you do not have one you can choose to purchase one from the game hosts/field or choose not to play.

Dead rag usage: When a player is hit, and considered out by game play rules, the player should take his dead rag and place it on his head in a visible area as he exits the field. Failure to do so may result in un-merited shots from activee players. It is always suggested for a dead player to walk in the non-active areas of play when returning to the respawn or staging areas. By walking into a hot fire zone you agree that you may be caught in crossfire and shot while dead. No complaints should be lodged if you choose to walk into hot area. Accordingly, all involved players are not to engage dead players as targets, if they walk into crossfire that is their mistake, if you deliberately target them, it is yours.

No Shoot Zones:

There is a no-mag rule while in the safe areas (all areas outside of the playing field.) All magazines need to be removed from your weapon until you step foot onto the playing field. When exiting the field, you should remove your magazine, make sure the chamber is empty, and then 'safe' your weaponn. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND USE GOOD GUN SAFTEY PRACTICES. THERE IS TO BE ABSOLUTLEY NO DISCHARGING OF WEAPONS IN THE SAFE ZONES. Players who need to test their weapons must step into the fenced area of the playing field to do so.

Chronograph Requirements:

All players must chronograph all airsoft weapons they plan to take onto the field. The FPS limits and MED for TAS are as follows:

All AEG’s will be chronographed using 0.25 gram BBs.

NO AEG’S EXCEEDING 400 FPS ON .25’S WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY.

Standard AEG 400 fps or less on .25’s you will abide by a 15 ft. MED

SAW/Squad Support Weapon 400 fps or less on .25’s you will abide by a 25 ft. MED

Bolt Action Sniper Rifles and Semi-Auto Only DMR’s NOTHING EXCEEDING 460 fps on .34’s and you will abide by a 100 ft. MED Organizers may use discretion in allowing players to use airsoft weapons of this type. Contact them privately if you have questions.

BB’s will be provided by the staff for use in chronographing said airsoft weapons. You as a player are required to have an empty magazine ready at the chrono station.

All airsoft weapons are subject to staff spot checks throughout the event.

Any un-tagged/un-marked airsoft weapon discovered in play is grounds for immediate disciplinary action on its user. It is the PLAYERS responsibility to make sure his or her gun is properly inspected and tagged before each event.

No exceptions are made to these rules. If you are 1 or 100 FPS over the required limit, then you will not be allowed use of that airsoft weapon the field of play. Players will be required to chrono each weapon at each event. Just because you’ve had it chronographed one month doesn’t mean you receive an exception the next.

Physical Contact/Aggressiveness:

Any physical contact with any player in anything that could be considered an aggressive manner will result in both players in question being asked to leave for the day without refund. If a serious incident were to occur the situation would warrant permanent expulsion from the field, as well as possible legal or civil action.

General Rules:

No pyrotechnic, firework, or other explosive devices will be allowed onto the field of play. Their use is strictly forbidden due to insurance regulations. Cold burn devices may be allowed, but their approval is entirely up to the field owners and may only be used with their expressed consent.

Keep profanity to a minimum at the field, there are youth and others who may be in attendance that don’t want to hear it.

There is a fire pit in the middle of the staging area, and is to be used to dispose of trash. All players must remove any garbage they bring to the field or place it in the fire pit. Absolutely no trash is to be left on the field by any airsoft participant. NO FLAMMABLE OR COMPRESSED GAS ITEMS ARE TO BE PLACED IN THE FIRE PIT. THIS APPLIES TO PROPANE TANKS, GREEN GAS CANISTERS, CO2 CANISTERS, ETC. USE YOUR HEAD!

Field structures and objects are not to be moved or in any way rearranged by players.

Game Play Requirements/Rules:

Safety Briefings:

All players wishing to engage in gaming at TAS will be required to be present for a safety briefing. You must be present for the briefing to take the field on game day. This does not mean if you hear a briefing on one date, you are exempted from it any other time. Briefings will be held twice a day (see schedule for times).

Proper Attitude:

All players attending events at TAS are to come with a proper attitude. Remember, the staff are doing the best they can to see that you have a good day of airsoft.

Hit Rules:

The days play will work on a one hit kill basis. Some games may have medics in play, and will allow a player to call for a medic to be healed after being hit, but unless specified otherwise, players will be considered ‘dead’ after one hit. Gun hits and ricochets do not count as kill shots.

Players are encouraged to avoid intentional headshots. Center mass should be used for hits whenever possible, but if a player only presents his head then he/she should not complain if shot in the head.

Honesty:

Honest play will be demanded of all participants. CALL ANY AND ALL QUESTIONABLE HITS. Do not call out other players on the field. If you witness someone not calling their hits, immediately notify the game hosts, or other players designated as player liaisons. Game staff are the ONLY ones responsible for dealing with hit calling issues. Players who do not call their hits, or who call out other players on the field will be dealt with accordingly, and the disciplinary action will be swift, strong, and if need be PUBLIC.

Dead Men Dont speak:

Once you are considered dead you should not relay information to your fellow teammates. This applies to verbal tips (radio included), body language or hand gestures.

Lost/Found Equipment:

Any equipment that you may discover on the field should be turned in to field officials or game staff. Attempts will be made to return the lost equipment to its rightful owner. It is suggested for players to label their equipment to make it easier to identify.

Team Separations:

Teams will be separated whenever possible by the color of the tops the players are wearing. The games will be Green and Tan based. Players who wish to use shirt/top colors for team designations are encouraged to bring both colors with them in case changes need to be made. Players not having the corresponding colors for teams will be marked using arm bands. Gear color is not a designation unless specified otherwise, the color of the shirt/jacket/top will be the deciding color.

Camo Conversions (the patterns are separated into Green and Tan).

Timing:

Gaming at TAS will be done on a schedule. Players not ready to take the field when the games begin, will not be allowed to take the field for that event. They must wait until the next game begins. Essentially, no late arrivals, or ill-prepared players will be allowed to take the field after the game begins. Players are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared when the game begins to take the field.

[b]Parking:

Parking is limited at the top of the hill, participants are asked not to block the driveway, or to block in other participants. If you can’t find suitable parking you should park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. Players may be asked by staff to move their vehicles if it causes an issue with space, or blocking other vehicles. Early arrival for best parking is encouraged.

ALL OF FIELD AND GAME RULES ARE TO BE FOLLOWED TO THE LETTER. DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL BE ENFORCED. RULE INFRACTIONS COULD RESULT IN A WARNING OR UP TO AND INCLUDING YOUR PERMANENT BANISHMENT FROM ALL EVENTS AT TAS. THESE RULES ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE, AND IGNORANCE DOES NOT JUSTIFY THEM BEING BROKEN. GAME STAFF HAVE FULL DISCRECTION IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE RULES, AND ANY ACTION TAKEN TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS.

Thank You TAS STAFF
