INPUT on RealSim game days for TriCities

Postby quick_trigger_cowboy » Thu Sep 23, 2010 2:44 pm

Hey guys, This is Cowboy from TEAM V

I was just looking into the considerations people would take into compiling a series of RealSim games that I am looking into setting up and running.

1st - If you're not sure what RealSim is, it's simple. "Real Simulation"
A campaign or game designed around realistic military situations in which non-combat encounters may play a leading role in the success of players. (such as diplomatic situations, lengthy waiting/planning situations, insurgents, stealth/infaltration etc)

2nd - How interesting would these types of games be to players?
:: I don't want to set up a game in which people wouldn't show up or be interested, so lets get some input on that.

I may be having some brain complications today, so If I find anything else to cover here, I may post it up later.

I like it. I like it a lot. Send info as available via PM.

Immobilizing Shot -

Similar to rules you may be familiar with.

An immobilizing shot is a connecting shot that is not in the chest, neck, shoulder, crotch, or head. (Thighs and lower; shortsleeve line and lower)

Only one BB will allow you to be immobilized. If you are shot twice in an immobilizing area then you ARE DEAD and must return to respawn.

Generally, only specific characters/players in an event are allowed to be immobilized. (People of Interest)
The reason for this is a that a YELLOW rag is used to display that you are immobilized as opposed to dead, and we cant expect that everyone in an event carry a yellow rag.
Once immobilized, you must fall to the ground and remain prone until you are healed by an approved medic, or you bleed out to your death. (5-10 mins dependent upon scenario/game event)
You still MAY move around in prone while immobilized and have full access to your arsenal. Other rules allow that you may only use sidearms, however, in a real life event you can still fire weapons with a bullet in/through your thigh!

Keep your Yellow rag readily available in case you are immobilized. You do not have to waive it around to signal you are immobilized, but most choose to tie it around there arm.

Oh yeah. In a realsim situation you better make sure you're shooting the right people. Also sucks when your guys are undercover and get caught up in a gun fight ;)

Real-caps or possibly even mid-caps for the simple fact that not everyone has realcap mags. We want to avoid people having to buy too much more stuff just to play some Realsim games

Makes sense, either works, as long as hi caps are prohibited, to enhance realism a tad,
